First off, the title; last week I ordered a new external hard drive as my current 500GB drive was filling up so I decided to replace it with a 1TB drive instead and after waiting in anticipation for a week it finally arrived yesterday! This meant I spent the whole day transferring files from on to the other, I had a few problems but considering the amount of stuff I was transferring it went pretty well although it took pretty much all day. Here are screenshots of the stuff that failed to transfer:
And here are the two drives compared, the black one is the old 500GB and the silver the new 1TB:
Secondly; the Freeride World Tour (FWT) was cancelled again, it was cancelled on Saturday due to snow conditions, after Julien Lopez (bib 2) was caught in avalanche. Thankfully he walked away unharmed, if you want more details have a look at Episode 9 of the FWT Journal as it has an explanation and update:
Keeping on the topic of winter sports it was SIA (SnowSports Industries America) over the weekend with loads of manufacturers showing off their new lines for the 2015/16 season; check gavinrudy on Newschoolers for all of their videos, have a look at Freeskier for their coverage or Teton Gravity. If you don’t want to watch hours of video you can read a brief but accurate round up on Teton Gravity’s site here. I am also looking forward to all the footage from ISPO Munich starting tomorrow!
I haven’t had a very productive day today annoyingly (Mechatronics test on Monday) but I just went for a climbing which was good as I haven’t been in ages. Now I am just starting to look at my plans for the rest of the week/weekend as I am heading home on Friday to go and see my cousin play in a concert and see my mum for an early birthday! I am also looking forward to the Snowriders post Tignes social/reggae night on Monday too.
