Eventually got this post up after waiting ages for the videos to upload to YouTube!
So after the storm cycle last week and the whiteout and snow yesterday it finally cleared up this morning for a prefect bluebird day with super fluffy powder. Sadly I didn’t get to ski any of the major off-piste runs as it was the rest of the family’s first full day so they didn’t feel up for it but tomorrow I plan on starting with the Laub followed by Steinberg and then possibly Gross Salz and even more but we will have to see. The conditions were amazing this morning but got tracked out really quickly so we will just have to hope for the best tomorrow, it has stayed fairly cold so the snow conditions should still be good. Here is a map form Prime here in Engelberg with the freeride routes marked on (all the bold red runs are lift accessible routes and the bold blue lines require skins, I have done the skin loop to the very top, Gross Titlis):
(Sorry for the low quality, couldn’t find a better one)
Anyway today was an awesome day, got the first lift up to the top, hasn’t been open for a few days, and laid some nice first tracks but as I was on my own I didn’t stray too far from the pistes or marked runs. Here is a video from the very top, Titlis (3028m), to our hotel, Trubsee (1800m) [skip to 2:20 for the best section of skiing]:
After that I went and skied Steintoli before joining my family for a few runs ending with Klein Sulz (or Sommerway as I know it). My mum then decided it was time for a break so I went and joined Sophie and Katie for the rest of the day with my brother. Ended up being quite a busy but very entertaining day, took loads of photos so here they are:
It even started snowing a tiny bit at the end of today, it clouded over a lot at about 3 sadly. It has got heavier now too so tomorrow is shaping up to be sweet!
I also took a few panoramas to update my header backgrounds and added a photo of me to the about section; here are the panoramas:
There were also a few random shots when I was playing around with it plus a few selfies…
And I finally got to see and ride the new cable car, so weird how the whole car now rotates rather than just the floor.
Sophie also took a few photos too:
