Day 8 – Downday

100th POST!

As forecast the clouds had closed in when we woke up this morning but we weren’t too worried as we had already decided we wouldn’t be skiing much if at all today and instead would go down to Engelberg and over to Eienwäldli pool. I did ski a little this morning, only about 4 runs before heading down the valley; there looked like there was a slalom competition on and they were setting up a GS course but the racers were pretty much the only people on the mountain, I also remembered to get a photo of the airbag!

Eienwäldli was nice and relaxing, perfect last day before we head home tomorrow, Katie and Sophie left this morning. Now I am just starting my packing before dinner, the hotel is absolutely empty; I think they only set about 4 tables for dinner so it really is coming the end of our trip and the end of the season here. I know the ski buses stop tomorrow so thankfully we will still be able to get one to the station with our bags as in the past we have been here later and had to carry them the whole way across town! Engelberg was looking very green today it also started raining a few times too:

Johan Jonsson was in Engelberg for a day or two this week but I didn’t see him sadly and he has now headed to Alaska (so lucky); he posted a short clip of him flying down the top section of Steinberg on his new (2015/16) Blizzard Spurs on Thursday:
