Back at Uni

I know I haven’t posted in quite a while, since arriving back to Uni in fact, and considering I am now about to go into my 3rd week already I thought I would do a quick update on what has happened.

It is surprisingly easy to say what has happened since getting back to Uni because I have really done that much; I have spent way too much money with Snowriders already and that is pretty much it! From excessive drinking at the Packhorse Social in freshers week (what do you expect) to spontaneous socials on both Tuesday (HiFi) and Thursday (Warehouse) this week I haven’t had a chance to stop; not helped by going to see both The Martian and The Intern on Thursday before the Freestyle session. I am also yet to miss a session, be it Freestyle of Race, so we will have to see how long that lasts.

Get Baked before Warehouse of Thursday:

All I can say is I definitely think it is all well spent! I threw a few edits together from the first two freestyle sessions of the year yesterday:

I have also had a few house parties in between and I am currently not drinking at all which makes nights out a lot cheaper! Doing an Otley Run sober followed by Fruity yesterday was quite entertaining to say the least…

And to round out a little bit about actual Uni work; I had the Internship showcase on Wednesday which was the first time I have ever seen the drums work:

I also now know what my Individual Project is for this year, I got my 5th choice and will be looking at the ‘properties of 3D printed objects’. And that’s about it, I have some big new coming out shortly (hopefully) so keep your eyes out for that.

Winter Hype

Having now pretty much moved back to Uni for the coming term (home tonight for my last night until Christmas) I have just been watching and waiting for more ski videos to be released! Here are a few of my favourite trailers/short videos:

Nimbus Independent – After The Sky Falls:

DPS The Shadow Campaign Volume II – The Weight of Winter:

The SLVSH Cup Perisher Final

And finally the Snowriders Intro video for this year:

As I have said previously I have been cycling more so decided to get myself a new jersey when the opportunity arose, here is the initial render by one of the Leeds Fixed guys (Alex Dyson):

And that is about it, only a quick update as I haven’t posted in a while, have a full house now so have been busy sorting that out and general bits and pieces ready for term to start.

Films, Films and more Films!

My second post today and it is a bit of a confession:

In the last week I have watched 10 films at the cinema…

Granted it is quite sad but I enjoy the cinema and seeing as I was on my own for the whole week (my family were on holiday in Norway) I thought I would make the most of my Cineworld Unlimited membership so it didn’t cost me a penny (except my £16.90 a month charge for the card)! So here is what I have seen, only one repeat viewing:

Sunday: Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation

Monday: Paper Towns

Tuesday: Absolutely Anything

Wednesday: Nothing!
Went to Leeds to give keys to one of my new flatmates so didn’t go to the cinema, instead watch Terminator – Genisys in the flat.

Thursday: Hitman – Agent 47 AND We Are Your Friends

Friday: Straight Outta Compton

Saturday: Pixels AND Vacation

Sunday: Nothing!

Or at least I can’t remember going to see anything and don’t think I watched anything at home as I was editing some GoPro videos.

Monday: Hitman – Agent 47 AND The Bad Education Movie

Plus: The Legend of Billie Jean AND Tracers

Ok, I have to admit Monday was a little ridiculous but it was a Bank holiday after all! Also the reason I went and saw Hitman again was that I was taking my brother and cousins to see it.

I have seen too many films now in such a short length of time I am not going to bother doing a review on every one; I did want to see Fantastic Four but it was so bad apparently that they only had it on twice a day at awful times so didn’t get a chance. The most annoying thing about going to the cinema is the 30minutes of adverts before the film even starts!

I must say if any of you are like me and watch copious amounts of films then I can highly recommend getting an Unlimited Card as it is so much better than watching bad quality online/waiting until it is ‘ok’. No films this week as I have a few bits and pieces to sort out, getting my bike serviced and changing a few parts. I am looking forward to this weekend though as there are loads of new releases I want to see:

Friday: American Ultra AND The Transporter – Refueled

Saturday: Me And Earl And The Dying Girl AND Dope

And that is about it in film news!

Red Bull Air Race

Sorry for the delay, have had a busy few days sorting out the house and starting work again at home; but more importantly, the Red Bull Air Race!

It was amazing and there isn’t really much else to say other than that! So here are some pictures from the day (I took quite a few videos, including one of Paul Bonhomme’s qualifying run, but would need to upload them all to YouTube to share them):

We weren’t allowed to walk the whole way down and round the pits hence just seeing Kirby’s plane as he was the end pit.

Beautiful Weather

Pilots Parade

Got to see quite a few Red Bull athletes, as expected really considering it was a Red Bull event, I saw Danny MacAskillRyan Doyle, Aimee Fuller among others but I decided not to go and ask for any photos/signatures although kind of regret it now…didn’t even get round to getting the pilots signatures!

Found out a friend from school was going but sadly only on the Sunday so didn’t see him there. Came back with a few souvenirs; a snapback and a keyring along with the program for the day. I also enjoyed the fact that the cheapest drink there was Red Bull at just £1.50 for a can whereas water was £2.00!

Coming Back from Leeds

I thought I had to share this, saw it on my way back from Leeds on Sunday:

(It’s a Skoda Citigo)

And I thought it fitted too well to not take of photo of my Douchebags Huggers and Base all in a row:

(Hugger 35L, Hugger 30L, Hugger 60L and Base 15L)

Got a chance to go and watch The Man from U.N.C.L.E. on Sunday which was every entertaining and enjoyable.

I have also almost finished the James Bond series, I watch Quantum of Solace today and now it’s just Skyfall!

And that’s about it, have a few viewing this Friday for the rooms and then it is a week on my own as the rest of my family are off to Norway.

Bike Ride

This post is hugely delayed (over a week) but I have finally got round to writing it up!

Went on another ride with LSF last week, missed it this week while having drunks with a few people from my course who are also in Leeds over the summer. Last week we went out east from Leeds down the canal which was rather entertaining as it wasn’t exactly the smoothest of tracks…it was a dirt track for the majority of the ride but was still fun, stopped off at a few pubs on the route finishing in North Bar in Leeds. So here are a few pictures from the ride:

And a few more pictures from the LSF Instagram:

The prefect place to leave your bike…

Had a fun night out on Saturday, first time in ages, and went to Cosmic Slop with Mike and Connor. Very fun but very late, this photo is time stamped with 05:12am:

This didn’t really help as I was supposed to be in Liverpool at 11 that morning to move a few more things in from home, ended up getting there at 1, sorry dad…

Now onto the house; I am slowly filling the house and doing all the little repairs I can with the time available, pretty much sorted all the glaring problems now it just needs a good clean and a few little fixes here and there. While doing the work on the house and assembling all the new furniture I have started watching all the James Bond films in order. Have been watching one per day, today’s being Moonraker, the 11th out of the 23 released, Spectre being the 24th!

And that is about it for now, have a few people coming to view the house tomorrow as well as going to see Tiro Lark and a few others playing at the Library Pub tomorrow night!
